Haskell Splits Home Tri-Match
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Haskell volleyball picked up a strong win Tuesday evening, topping Mission (Mo.) 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-16, 28-26) in the nightcap of its home tri-match after falling to No. 10-ranked Grand View earlier in the day.
Against Mission, Haskell's offense found its rhythm behind standout performances from Tressa Jim, who led all hitters with 19 kills and three block assists, and Mya Dalgai, who added 10 kills on .381 hitting. Setter Katelynn Singer recorded 24 assists, while Darrilyn Tessay chipped in 17 assists.
From the service line, Hailey Kelsey and Kayelani Maiava combined for eight aces, giving Haskell a spark throughout the match. Defensively, Alaina Dugi anchored the back row with 21 digs as the team finished with 60 total digs and six block assists.
In the afternoon matchup, Haskell dropped a 3-0 (16-25, 8-25, 16-25) decision to Grand View, but saw bright spots in Dalgai's six kills and a balanced defensive effort led by Dugi's nine digs.
The split moves Haskell's record to 4-9 on the season.
