Haskell Battles in Five-Set Thriller at Graceland
Haskell volleyball put together a gritty performance on the road Tuesday night, taking Graceland to five sets before falling just short (25-23, 20-25, 25-19, 20-25, 10-15).
The team totaled 40 kills, 52 digs, and 8 team blocks in a well-rounded effort. Sophomore outside hitter Tressa Jim led the attack with 16 kills and added 7 digs. Kayelani Maiava anchored the back row with 10 digs, while middle blocker Hailey Kelsey contributed 7.5 points, including 3 blocks.
Setter Jaspen Ellenwood kept the offense running with 17 assists and 7 digs, while Darrilyn Tessay added 15 assists and a service ace.
Despite the tight loss, Haskell showed resilience by claiming the first and third sets and matching Graceland point-for-point through the decisive fifth.
Next Up: Haskell continues nonconference play with its next matchup on the road later this week.
