Head Track & Field Coach

Mason Finley serves as the Head Track and Field Coach at the University of Haskell. Before taking on the head coaching role, he spent four years as the throws coach at Mill Valley High School and one year as the throws coach at Haskell.

As an athlete, Finley is a two-time Olympian in the discus throw, representing Team USA at the 2016 and 2021 Olympic Games. In 2017, he captured the bronze medal at the World Championships, marking one of the highlights of his competitive career.

Since transitioning into coaching, Finley has developed a strong track record of success. He coached three state champions at the high school level, and at Haskell he has guided athletes to seven individual conference titles helping to secure the men’s team 2024 conference championship.

Coach Finley brings a unique combination of world-class competitive experience and proven coaching success. His philosophy emphasizes hard work, consistency, and building a team culture that allows athletes to maximize both their performance and personal growth.
