Haskell Sweeps Doubleheader Against Kansas Christian College

On April 16, 2026, the Haskell Indian Nations University softball team secured two hard-fought victories in a home doubleheader against Kansas Christian College. The Indians took the first game 5-4 and completed the sweep with a 7-5 win in the nightcap.

Game 1: Haskell 5, Kansas Christian College 4

Haskell overcame an early deficit to claim the opening contest. Kansas Christian College took a 2-0 lead in the 3rd inning, but Haskell responded with runs in the 2nd, 5th, and 6th innings to secure the win.

  • Key Performers: Mariah Graves went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run. Ariana Munoz also contributed 2 hits and scored once.

  • Clutch Hitting: Grace Greenwood delivered a critical 2-RBI single in the 5th inning, which helped Haskell pull ahead.

  • Pitching:Mariah Graves earned the win, pitching a complete 7.0 innings and striking out 3 while allowing 4 runs on 9 hits.

Game 2: Haskell 7, Kansas Christian College 5

The Indians jumped out to an early lead in Game 2 and held off a late KCC rally to finish the sweep. Haskell's offense exploded for 4 runs in the 1st inning and added 3 more in the 3rd innning.

  • Fast Start: Haskell took advantage of several opportunities in the 1st inning, with Abrielle Herrera drawing an RBI walk followed by a 2-RBI single from Chasely Roberts

  • Offensive Leaders: Grace Greenwood andMariah Graves both finished the game with 2 hits each. Grace Greenwood also scored 2 runs and recorded an RBI.

  • Late Resistance: KCC scored a run in each of the final 3 innings to narrow the gap, but Haskell's defense stood firm to preserve the 2-run lead.

  • Pitching: Celia Farrow pitched a complete 7.0 innings to earn the victory, overcoming 4 errors by the defense to limit KCC to 4 earned runs.
