LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Haskell men's basketball team put on an impressive offensive performance Monday night, defeating Bethany College (Kan.) 94-75 inside Coffin Sports Complex.
Haskell (1-4) shot a strong 52.9% from the field and 40% from three-point range, jumping out to a 50-44 halftime lead before extending the margin in the second half. Haskell controlled the paint with 44 points inside and held a 39-31 edge on the glass.
Jesse White led all scorers with 30 points, adding seven rebounds and six assists while shooting 12-of-23 from the floor. Khohanon Atazhoon contributed a balanced night with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Nehemiah Boykins added 14 points and eight boards. Ryan Hawkins provided a spark with nine points and two assists off efficient shooting.
Preston Olney scored eight points before fouling out. Haskell also received solid contributions from Chaske Jacobs (five points, four rebounds) and Aaron Campbell (five points, three rebounds).
Defensively, Haskell forced 17 turnovers that led to 19 points, while recording eight steals and four blocks as a team.
Haskell will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup later this week.
