Haskell Drops Doubleheader to Saint Mary
LAWRENCE, Kan. — Haskell Softball fell in both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against Saint Mary, dropping a tightly contested extra-inning opener before falling in five innings in game two.
Game 1: Saint Mary 6, Haskell 5 (8 innings)
Haskell battled throughout the opener, forcing extra innings before ultimately falling 6-5 in eight.
After trailing early, Haskell responded with a strong third inning and later tied the game with two runs in the seventh to send it into extras. The spires plated the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth and held off Haskell in the bottom half to secure the win.
Haskell out-hit Saint Mary 10-4 but left 10 runners on base.
In the circle, Graves went the distance, allowing six runs (four earned) with two strikeouts.

Game 2: Saint Mary 8, Haskell 0 (5 innings)
Saint Mary carried momentum into game two, scoring early and often in an 8-0 run-rule victory.
The spires scored in four of five innings, including a three-run first inning to take control. Haskell struggled offensively, managing just two hits in the game.
