HESSTON, Kan. — Haskell volleyball battled in a five-set conference matchup on Wednesday but came up just short, falling 3–2 (25–13, 26–24, 23–25, 12–25, 12–15) to Hesston College.
Haskell came out strong, dominating the opening set 25–13 and holding off a late rally to take the second 26–24 for a 2–0 lead. Hesston regrouped to claim the final three sets and the match.
Outside hitter Tressa Jim led the Haskell attack with 19 kills, 24 digs, and four blocks. Setter Jaspen Ellenwood added 22 assists and 11 digs, while Grace Moses-Watchman chipped in 10 assists and six digs. Alaina Dugi anchored the defense 25 digs.
At the net, Hailey Kelsey recorded seven kills and two blocks, and Mecca Goldsberry tallied eight kills. Haskell totaled 45 kills, 90 digs, and 12 service aces as a team.The loss moves Haskell to 7–30 overall and 2–4 in conference play, while Hesston improves to 9–13 and 2–4. Haskell will return to the court this weekend looking to close out the regular season at Cottey.
